EXTERIOR HEATED SIDE VIEW MIRROR GLASS CRACK WHEN MIRROR DEFROST IS ON
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2008-2009 Tribute built on or before March 31, 2009 and equipped with heated exterior side view mirrors
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may exhibit a glass thermal stress crack when mirror defrost is powered on.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Replace the exterior mirror glass only if there's no evidence of impact damage. (Figure 1) Refer to MS3 online or Workshop Manual (section 09-12
EXTERIOR MIRROR GLASS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION) for removal and installation.
3. Verify repair.
