DESCRIPTION
IMPORTANT:
This procedure applies to vehicles with FACTORY INSTALLED trailer tow option ONLY. For Dealer Installed Accessory Tribute V6 Trailer Tow
Kit, see Parts Flash # RF-08-02.
Some customers may complain that their vehicle is equipped with 3 relays in the underhood Battery Junction Box (BJB) with the FORD oval logo on
them. These relays will be in the locations shown (1, 2, 3).
On 2008 Tribute vehicles built on or after November 30, 2007 equipped with 3.0L V6 and the factory installed trailer tow option, the relays for the
trailer tow option are supplied as a loose package (Kit-Trailer Tow Option - Ford Part No. 8L8T-15A416-AA) by the assembly plant to be installed
during the PDI process by the dealer.
Kit-Trailer Tow Option provided by the assembly plant on vehicles built from November 30, 2007 through March 19, 2008 may have relays printed with
the FORD oval logo (A) installed in the vehicle by the dealer during the PDI process.
If you receive customer complaints that the relays installed into the BJB have the FORD oval logo (A) on them, order replacement relays
(ZZCB-67-069A) with a FoMoCo logo (B). Replace the existing FORD oval logo (A) relays with FoMoCo logo (B) relays for customer satisfaction
purposes ONLY.
