2008 TRIBUTE - CD4E TRANSAXLE FLUID WEEP FROM TRANSAXLE OIL COOLER LINE

2008 Tribute vehicles equipped with a CD4E transaxle
built before March 1, 2007
DESCRIPTION
Some Tribute vehicles equipped with a CD4E transaxle may have transaxle fluid weeping from the transaxle cooler line next to the hose clamp (constant
tension spring type clamp).
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
Check cooler line rubber hose is fully installed by pushing rubber hose to stop bead. Do not push rubber hose beyond stop bead.
3.
Install one (1) additional new hose clamp (screw worm gear type) next to original hose clamp.
Tightening torque: 28 lb-in (3.2 Nm).
4.
Check ATF and top off with MERCON(R) V as needed to bring ATF to recommended level.
5.
Verify repair.
