Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair

SUCTION ACCUMULATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - HYBRID
NOTE: Installation of a new suction accumulator is not required when repairing the air conditioning system, except when there is physical evidence of
contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator.
NOTE: The suction accumulator fitting studs can be removed and installed separately from the suction accumulator and are available as service parts. If
only the fitting studs are damaged, it is not necessary to install a new suction accumulator.
1. Recover the refrigerant. See See: Service and Repair/Discharging And Recovery.
2. Remove the evaporator outlet line fitting nut and disconnect the fitting.

Discard the O-ring seal and gasket seal.

To install, tighten to 15 Nm {1.5 kgf-m, 11 ft-lbf}.
3. Remove the auxiliary evaporator outlet line fitting nut and disconnect the fitting.

Discard the O-ring seal and gasket seal.

To install, tighten to 15 Nm {1.5 kgf-m, 11 ft-lbf}.
