7. While the engine is running, using IDS datalogger or equivalent, check the PID value of ETC_TRIM.

a. If ETC_TRIM value is 3.5 degrees and/or DTC P115E is present, then replace the electronic throttle body (ETB), per MS-3 online or Workshop
Manual (section

b. If ETC_TRIM value is less then 3.5 degrees and DTC P115E is not present, the ETB is not the likely cause of the concern and replacement is not
necessary. Perform Workshop Manual diagnostic procedure for DTC P1A0C - HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE - ENGINE
DISABLED (PDF) located on MS3.

NOTE:
^ If any DTCs should remain after performing DTC erase, diagnose the DTCs according to the appropriate Troubleshooting section of the Workshop

Manual.

^ After PCM reprogramming, it is no longer necessary to road test the vehicle to "relearn" KAM (Keep Alive Memory).

^ An "Authorized Modifications" lable is not needed for this repair.

NOTE:
The PCM Calibration Part Numbers listed above are provided for PCM reprogramming purposes only. These are not necessarily the same Mazda part
numbers used to order an actual PCM through the Mazda Parts System. It is not necessary to order a PCM as part of this repair procedure.
