Parking Brake Control: Service and Repair

PARKING BRAKE CONTROL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Remove the front driver side door scuff plate and kick panel. See  See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Front Door/Front Door

Panel/Service and Repair.

2. Release the parking brake cable tension. See  See: Parking Brake Cable/Service and Repair/Procedures.

3. Remove the parking brake release handle bolt.

To install, tighten to 10 Nm {1.0 kgf-m, 89 in-lbf}.

4. Disconnect the parking brake warning indicator switch electrical connector and detach harness pin-type retainer from the parking brake control

cover.

5. Remove the 2 parking brake control bolts.
