AWD VIBRATION, RUMBLE, AND/OR EXCESSIVE EXHAUST NOISE AFTER COLD SOAK

2009-2010 Tribute equipped with AWD
2009-2010 Tribute Hybrid equipped with AWD
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may exhibit a vibration, rumble/groan, and/or excessive exhaust type noise. The concern is most noticeable after a cold start in ambient
temperatures of approximately -15 degrees Fahrenheit (-26 degrees Celsius) or lower. The noise will eventually diminish once vehicle reaches normal
operating temperature. Revised components which are optimized for extreme cold ambient temperatures are now available to address this concern.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Replace the rear propeller shaft assembly per MS3 online or Workshop Manual (section 03-15 DRIVE-SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).
3. Replace all five (5) exhaust hangers.
4. Verify repair.
