Transmission Fluid Cooler - Backflushing and Cleaning
TRANSAXLE FLUID COOLER - BACKFLUSHING AND CLEANING
Caution: Test the Torque Converter Cleaner to make sure that a vigorous fluid flow is present before proceeding. Install a new system filter if flow is
weak or contaminated.
Note: Rubber hoses must be attached to the ends of this fluid cooler tubes to connect them to the cleaner.
1. Connect the cleaner pressure and return lines appropriately.

Connect the pressure line to the fluid cooler inlet tube.

Connect the return line to the fluid cooler outlet tube.

Place the outlet end of the return line in the solvent tank degas bottle.
Note: Cycling the solvent pump on and off will help dislodge contaminants in the cooler system.
2. Switch the solvent pumps on. Allow the solvent to circulate a minimum of five minutes.
3. Switch the solvent pump off.
4. Disconnect the cleaner pressure line at the fluid cooler tube.
5. Using compressed air, blow through the fluid cooler inlet tube until all solvent is removed.
6. Remove the rubber hoses from the fluid cooler tubes.
