DESCRIPTION
Some 2001-2004 Tributes may exhibit excessive front brake rotor wear and/or brake dust accumulation on the front wheels. This condition may be
caused by the brake pad material formulation.
A new brake pad has been introduced that can be used to reduce dust and rotor wear.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
Replace front brake pads with new brake pads according to applicable Workshop Manual (section 04-11 BRAKE PADS Removal).
NOTE:
Rotor machining / replacement is not needed if the rotor is within specification for runout, disc thickness variation and is above the minimum
for rotor thickness.
3. Verify repair.
