5. Remove the front safety belt retractor.
1. Disconnect the front safety belt retractor.
2. Remove the front safety belt retractor.
NOTE: Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted prior to installation.
NOTE: Make sure to tighten bolts to specification.
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
1. Make sure that after the front passenger safety belt retractor is installed, the retractor is not in the Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) mode.
7. Check the active restraint system for correct operation.
1. Cary out the Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) Mode Functional Test to make sure that the new retractor operates correctly. For additional
information, refer to Component Test in the Diagnosis and Testing portion.
