DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may exhibit a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) "ON" with or without the following symptoms: Rough running, lack of power, surge or
poor fuel economy, along with Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0401, P0402, P1400 or P1401. This may be caused by an intermittently functioning
Tube-Mounted Delta Pressure Feedback EGR (DPFB) Sensor.
A DPFE EGR Pressure Sensor kit is being used as an interim repair process for these vehicles. An instruction sheet is included with this kit.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Retrieve DTC(s).
If P0401, P0402, P1400 or P1401 are present, turn ignition OFF and replace the DPFE sensor. Then proceed to Step 2.

If no DTC is retrieved, proceed with appropriate electrical/driveability diagnostics according to Workshop Manual (section 01-01
TROUBLESHOOTING).
NOTE:
The DPFE Service kit includes:

a different style DPFE FOR sensor
^
a harness to adapt the service part to the vehicle harness connector
^
installation instructions

Clear continuous DTC(s).
