CONDITION OF CONCERN
On subject vehicles, a plastic post inside the front seat belt buckle cover may break, which may allow the buckle latch mechanism to become wedged.
This may lead to a no latch condition in which the tongue does not latch into the buckle, or a partial latch condition in which the tongue may be inserted
into the buckle and appear engaged. In the event of a crash, either condition may cause the belt to become unlatched, resulting in injury to the occupants
of the vehicle.
