A leaky filler neck can be sealed as follows:
1.
Thoroughly clean the filler neck, overflow fitting and filler neck base (arrows, Figure 3).
2.
Brush an even, very thin coat of primer fluid on the cleaned surface and allow 10 minutes for drying at room temperature (approx. 70~F).
NOTE:
The primer and sealing compound are supplied under one part number (see Parts Information).
3.
Seal the joint area of the filler neck/overflow tube (inside and outside) and the filler neck/reservoir with undiluted sealing compound.
4.
Allow sealer to cure for approximately 3 hours before placing the vehicle back into service.
