Engine Mount: Service and Repair

    The engine stop, located between the oil pan and crossmember, is not used on models equipped with manual transmission.

REPLACEMENT

1.

Turn steering wheel fully to either side.

2.

Remove lower engine cover.

3.

Remove engine stop adjusting bolt, attaching bolts and clamp, then the stop attaching bolt.

4.

Reverse procedure to install. Torque attaching bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm) and the adjusting bolt to 96 ft. lbs. (130 Nm).

ADJUSTMENT

1.

Turn steering wheel fully to either side.

2.

Completely back out adjusting bolt, Fig. 3, then break engine stop free from crossmember.

3.

Completely back out adjusting bolt on rear engine mount.

4.

Insert adjusting gauge No. 201589042300 into the stop, then manually shake engine from side to side.

5.

Torque adjusting bolt on rear engine mount to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm) and adjusting bolt on the stop to 96 ft. lbs. (130 Nm).

6.

Remove adjusting gauge from engine stop.
