FIGURE 4 WATER PUMP GASKET MOUNTED TO TIMING CHAIN COVER

Prior to installation of the gaskets, thoroughly clean the sealing surfaces of the crankcase, timing chain cover and water pump. Apply Loctite sealant 241
(part no. 002 989 94 71) to the gaskets only at the points indicated by light dots in Figures 3 and 4.

IMPORTANT:

After the timing chain cover gasket is installed, cut off the lower horizontal section of the gasket (B) at each corner (arrows) and
discard (Figure 3).

If the gaskets are not available, the timing chain cover and water pump can also be installed using Loctite sealant 573 (part no. 001 989 45 20/10). Coat
the entire sealing surfaces of cover and pump with a thin and even coating.
