SUBJECT:

INCREASING AIR CONDITIONING COOLING PERFORMANCE BY
INTEGRATING ENGINE AND AUXILIARY FAN CONTROL INTO THE HIGH PRESSURE SWITCH CIRCUIT MODEL 190E, MY 84 and MY 85

In case of complaints regarding insufficient air conditioning cooling performance, a modification can be made, which will improve the cooling capability
of the system.

NOTE:

This modification should also always be performed when an air conditioning high pressure hose, or condenser is replaced due to freon leakage
of these components.

This Service Information provides instructions to electrically connect the engine fan to the auxiliary fan low speed circuit. When the air conditioning
system is being used and the refrigerant pressure rises above 20 bar (290 psi), the auxiliary fan engages on low speed. With the modifications in Work
Instructions No. 177, the engine fan will also engage when the auxiliary fan engages on low speed. This is done to provide additional air flow through
the condenser, lowering the refrigerant temperature and pressure, thereby increasing the performance of the air conditioning system.
