Thermostat: Service and Repair

Drain Coolant.

-

Unscrew cap (31) with connected engine coolant hose,
^

Tightening torque for light alloy cap: 10 Nm (7.4 ft lbs)

Tightening torque for plastic cap: 8 Nm (6.3 ft lbs).

Remove engine coolant thermostat (30).

Assemble in reverse order. 

NOTES: 

Install the engine coolant thermostat so that the ball valve is at the highest point.
Always replace thermostat O-ring (32).

Check for leaks.
