Receiver Dryer: Service and Repair
NOTE: In the event of trouble with the air conditioning system due to leaks, soiling or icing-up, as well as with air conditioning systems without
refrigerant, a new receiver dehydrator should generally be installed. Depending on the extent of contamination, the air conditioning system should be
flushed with nitrogen prior to installing the new receiver dehydrator.
Removing
1
Drain air conditioning system (recycling).
2
Disconnect plugs from pressure switches (S31 and S32).
3
Unscrew both pressure switches from receiver dehydrator.
4. Unscrew hose lines (62 and 67) from receiver dehydrator. Seal off connections.
5
Unscrew two screws (arrow) and lift out receiver dehydrator.
Installing
6
Before installing the new receiver dehydrator, pour 10 cc of fresh compressor oil into the side connection. If switches S31 and S32 are still
installed in the removed receiver dehydrator, install switches S31/1 and S32/1 in the new receiver dehydrator.
7
Install in the reverse sequence, lightly coating the threads for the hose lines (62 and 67) with cold-flowing oil.
8
Evacuate air conditioning system and refill; check for leaks and check function See: Testing and Inspection
