As of March 1986, a modified rear axle ABS speed sensor was gradually phased into production on models 124 and 201, similar to the sensor installed
on models 107 and 126 since September 1985 production (Figure 1). The modified speed sensor is recognized by its steel flange, previously a plastic
flange.. The mounting hole in the steel flange and in the rear axle housing has been moved due to the larger sensor head (Figure 2). As a result, there are
now two versions of the rear axle housings.
