Potentiometer Removal
3b. On vehicles with 2nd. version potentiometers, unscrew screw (89), and remove nut (75) along with spring (76).
Potentiometer Testing

Connect a suitable ohmmeter between terminal 1 and 2 of the potentiometer, and slowly move the potentiometer lever between stops. The
resistance should be approx.:
8 ohms to 4.4±1K ohms, without interruption. If the correct resistance is not obtained, replace the potentiometer.
