Remove/Install Radio
Removing and installing radio
Preceding work: Ashtray removed
A. Single-block unit, control unit of two-component set and CD player as well as radio control unit, with Mercedes-Benz mounting
Disconnect ground cable at battery
Press down clamping lever, if fitted (arrows)
Remove radio (A2, up to approx. 09/90) or CD player and radio control unit (A2/2).
Note:
If the radio cannot be removed as described above, the radio may be fitted with a universal mount with two spring-tensioned clamping
levers at the top of the set (remove as described under C).
Radio (A2) single-block unit or radio control unit (A2/4, as of approx. 09/90)
insert removal plates (1) and pull out radio or radio control unit
Note:
If it is not possible to insert the removal plates (1), the radio is attached with two additional clips (see Section B).
Note
Press down retaining springs on the removed radio and pull out the removal plates (1). During the initial phase radios were installed
without the retaining springs on the side. On these radios, the removal plates do not engage. Removal/ installation is performed as for the
previous radio generation.
All radio versions
Disconnect electrical connections, antenna and speaker wiring.
Note
On radio sets from approx. 09/87 or 11/87 with variable code number. Code number customer enters (see Section E).
Note
New radio generation with fixed code. Enter code number from code card (see Section F).
