Water Pump: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

WARNING:  To avoid the possibility of scalding yourself, allow the engine to cool off.

Radiator Expansion Tank

2. Loosen the radiator cap to the first detent, to vent the pressure, then remove the cap.

Lower Engine Cover

3. Raise the vehicle and remove the bolts (504) and the lower engine cover [505].

Radiator Petcock

4. Connect a hose (inner diameter 12 mm) to the radiator petcock [arrow]. Open the petcock [17] by turning in the counterclockwise direction and

drain the radiator.
