Condenser Fan: Description and Operation
Auxiliary Fan View
PURPOSE
The auxiliary cooling fans, which are located in front of the A/C condenser, provide additional air flow across the condenser and radiator to assist during
periods of high thermal load.
OPERATION
The auxiliary fans are simultaneously activated (low speed) by the high pressure switch in the receiver drier at approx. 290 psi (20 bar) via a relay and
pre-resistor. The high speed circuit is activated by the 105°C/115°C temperature switch at an engine coolant temperature of approx. 221°F (105°C).
When the pressure or temperature drops below preset values, fan operation discontinues. Refer to the appropriate component for specific values.
