Sunroof / Moonroof Cable: Service and Repair

Removal and installation of teleflex cable 

Removal 

1  Remove sun roof lid.   See: Sunroof / Moonroof Panel/Service and Repair
2  Operate sun roof switch in direction of "close", let teleflex cable run forward all the way and pull it out.

Note:  If the teleflex cable cannot be moved with the electric motor, use the emergency winder.

3  If the teleflex cable cannot be moved in this manner either, insert a mandrel in the hole for the connecting clamp and remove the cable by turning

the mandrel clockwise and pulling the cable at the same time.

4  Stop turning when too much force is required, since otherwise the cable will be stretched and could damage the teleflex tube. In this case the

5  If the teleflex cable cannot be removed even after dismantling the gearbox, the teleflex tube has been damaged and must be removed.   See:

Installation 

6  Lubricate coil at end of new teleflex cable with MB slide paste thoroughly and run it into teleflex tube carefully.
