1.

Open caliper bleeder screw, and pump brake fluid from rear brake circuit.

2.

On 1st version (early production) vehicles or vehicles with starting torque compensation, disconnect and cap brake line from caliper
assembly, Fig. 7.

3.

On 2nd version (later production) vehicles, loosen frame floor bracket brake hose from brake line. Disconnect brake line from caliper. Cap all
open connections.

4.

On all models, loosen locking plate, if so equipped.

5.

Remove caliper attaching bolts.

6.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. When installing a new caliper on diagonal swing axles located behind axle center, the elevation on the caliper piston must be on top, Fig. 8.
b. When installing a new caliper on diagonal swing axles with starting torque compensation located in front of axle center, caliper piston

elevation must be at the bottom, Fig. 8.
