! CAUTION!

WHEN CLEANING WITH SOFT TOP UP:
^

Clean soft top with soft top closed and locked only.

^

Do not wash vehicle at an automatic car wash.

^

Do not clean vehicle with high pressure cleaner.

A.

GENERAL CLEANING PROCEDURES
^

Remove bird droppings immediately.

^

When removing ice or snow do not use ice scrapers/snow removers with sharp edges.

^

Do not clean soft top or rear windows with gasoline, thinners, tar removers, spot removers, or other organic solvents.

^

Normally, periodic cleaning by spraying with a garden hose or rinsing off with clean water is sufficient. A thorough washing of the top should
be done only when top is very dirty.

CLEANING TOP WHEN DRY
Clean soft top with soft brush always brushing in the same direction; from front to rear.

WASHING
^

First clean soft top with with soft brush while dry.

^

Use an ample supply of lukewarm water with a neutral detergent. Clean soft top using a soft brush or sponge, always cleaning in the same
direction; from front to rear.

^

Areas that are soiled (including contact or chafe marks) can be cleaned with a concentrated detergent.

^

Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

^

Allow soft top to dry.

Note:

If only cleaning isolated soiled areas on the top, wet down entire top afterwards and let air-dry.

WATERPROOFING WITH WATERPROOFING SPRAY, WATERPROOFING SEAMS

Completely clean top.

^

Cover all surrounding paint and window areas (including plastic windows).

^

Spray top with Mercedes-Benz waterproofing spray, part number 001 986 31 71. Spray lightly and evenly from a distance of approx. 30 cm
away (not allowing area to get too damp).

^

Let dry for approx. two minutes, then spray top again.

^

In the event of water leaks coming through the seams, the seams can be sealed against leakage using Mercedes-Benz seam protection
compound (part number 000 989 40 20) applied on the inner part of the top.

E.

CLEANING REAR (PLASTIC) WINDOWS
Prewash rear and side (plastic) windows with clean water then dry off. Using a lint-free cloth, apply Mercedes-Benz plastic glass cleaner (part no.
001 986 30 71) to windows, then clean again using a dry cloth.

! CAUTION!

The Mercedes-Benz waterproofing spray contains silicone. Do not spray on vehicle paint. Waterproofing overspray must be removed using
Mercedes-Benz silicone remover (part number 000 986 90 71/11) repeatedly, until area is completely clean.
