Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair
Self Adjusting Type
REMOVAL
1.
Disable airbag system, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ARMING & DISARMING.
2.
Disconnect electrical connector from switch.
3.
Depress switch detent tab, then rotate switch and remove from mounting bracket
INSTALLATION
1.
Pull switch actuating pin outward from switch to maximum travel position.
2.
Depress brake pedal and insert switch until detent engages mounting bracket.
3.
Release brake pedal. The switch will automatically adjust to the correct actuating position.
4.
Connect battery ground cable.
