Transmission Cooler: Service and Repair

NOTE:  
The transmission air-oil cooler with blower is only required in vehicles with air conditioner or automatic climate control and trailer coupling if the trailer
load amounts to over 1500 kg gross vehicle weight.

Removing and Installing

1. Remove front bottom section of noise encapsulation.
2. Seal off oil hoses (32, 33) on oil lines (19, 20). Remove clamp (22).

32 Oil hose
33 Oil hose
34 Rubber grommet

Installation Note

Check and correct transmission oil level of automatic transmission.  Fit rubber grommet (34).

27 Plastic nut
28 Metal nut
29 Bolt B6.3 x 16

3. Unscrew bolts (25, 29) and nuts (27, 28), remove covering (26).
