Two cutting knives are required for cutting through the adhesive bead when replacing the windshield (Figures 1-2).

Installation of the windshield has been simplified by using a variable speed, cordless caulking gun.

CAUTION! Observe all applicable safety rules and regulations when handling glass.
Procedure

1.

Remove trim with a plastic wedge tool. Using a chisel remove the pop rivets which are used to fasten the clips securing the lower trim.

Using the cutting knife without the adjustable stop 124 589 21 63 00 (Figure 1), the lower horizontal adhesive bead of the windshield or rear
window can be completely cut through from outside the vehicle, regardless of minor fit deviations.
