REPLACEMENTS OF CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

The EPA has requested us to inform all MB-dealers that the installation of a used catalytic converter may, in certain instances, be considered
"tampering" with the emission control system, and subject the dealer to a fine of up to $10,000 per violation.

MENA does not authorize the installation of used catalytic converters into MB vehicles and requests that all dealership management personnel involved
in vehicle service, familiarize themselves with federal policies applying to vehicle emission control systems.

According to 40 CFR Part 85, the installation or sale of a converter not plying with the guidelines and which is not a new OE converter, or its equivalent
or a certified converter, may be considered tampering or the causing thereof.
