Fuse & Relay Box - Threaded Sleeve Replacement

REPLACING THREADED SLEEVES IN FUSE AND RELAY BOX

The threaded sleeves for the rear mounting screws of the relay box cover (arrows, Figure 1) can be replaced in cases where the screws have seized and
need to be drilled out.

Procedure

1.

Remove fuse box cover.

2.

Unscrew mounting screws.

3.

Drill out head of seized screw(s) with 7 mm dia. drill bit.

4.

Remove relay box cover.

5.

Carefully knock out threaded sleeve(s) with a drift punch.

6.

Coat new threaded sleeve(s) with Loctite and draw into housing using a screw.

7.

Reinstall cover.
