Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable: Service and Repair
Remove/Install Contact Spiral
Removal and Installation:

Remove cover below instrument panel.

Disarm SRS system and remove steering wheel.

Allow steering wheel lock to engage, with front wheels in straight ahead position.

Disconnect connector, contact spiral/airbag (A45x1). Expose cable.
CAUTION: Observe SRS safety precautions!

Disconnect connector, contact spiral/fanfare horn relay (A45x2). Expose cable.

Unscrew fixing screws (32h) sufficiently so that the contact spiral (A45) can be removed. The fixing screws (32h) are also used to prevent
rotation.
