REMOVAL
The pre-combustion chambers are identified at the upper flange with the code numbers 601/09 for the 603 engine. Six burner bores of different
diameters are located on the pre-chamber lower half (burner neck) at different levels and angle positions, Fig. 5.

Disable airbag system as described in MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ARMING & DISARMING.
2.
Mark, disconnect and cap fuel injection lines from fuel injection nozzles.
3.
Loosen fuel injection line brackets from intake manifold.
4.
Loosen bowden wire bracket from engine regulator and position aside.
5.
Loosen nozzle holder bracket, then remove pencil element glow plugs, Fig. 6.

Remove threaded ring.
7.
Using tool No. 601589063300 or equivalent, remove pre-combustion chambers from cylinder head bores and cover cylinder head cover bores.
