Short Time After Starting the Engine

Cause:
Frequent starting and stopping of the engine or after prolonged parking, e.g. overnight causes the hydraulic valve tappets to drain partially and may cause
hydraulic valve tappet noise for a short period after starting the engine.

Remedy:
Install new improved valve tappets, part no. 601 050 80 05 or 050 04 25 which has a 0.2 mm vent hole (in production as of 9/87).
