With engine off, step on accelerator pedal from inside vehicle until the pedal touches the kickdown switch. The adjustment lever of the injection pump
(arrow) must be at full load stop (Figure 5)

Adjust slotted connecting rod, if necessary (Figure 4). Make certain the control linkage operates easily.

Note: 

All control linkage bearings as well as ball sockets, with the exception of the connection between the control shaft (9) and the lever (7, Figure  3),
should be greased with MB Anti-Corrosion Grease, part no. 000 989 87 51 10 (100g can).
