Sunroof / Moonroof Clutch: Adjustments

Check:
-

Open tilting/sliding roof half-way.

-

Attach torque wrench (Fig. 1) to emergency crank drive through opening in side panelling.

-

Hold torque wrench, have an assistant press tilting/sliding roof switch in the direction "close" and read off torque.

Nominal value: 4 - 5 Nm.

Adjustment:
-

Remove Panelling in trunk, left.

-

Pull off plastic cap (Fig. 2).

-

Increase or reduce torque of hex. nut (Fig. 3) by screwing in or out.

NOTE:  Hold gear unit shaft with a 6 mm open-end wrench to prevent from turning.

Press plastic cap on completely (turn hex. nut slightly, if required) and check torque. Readjust, if required.

CAUTION:  The slip clutch should not lock up under any circumstances; otherwise the tube would be widened at the front and bend.

Install panelling.
