Fan Shroud: Service and Repair

NOTE:  Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

Replacement

1. Remove bottom engine compartment panel at front.

2. Remove upper frame cross member (2).
3. Remove locking pin (18).
4. Turn fan shroud ring (6) to the left, place over fan.
5. Pull off flat shaped springs (15) upward.
6. Remove fan shroud (5) and fan shroud ring (6).
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

Adjust fan shroud (5) relative to fan, if necessary.

Insert retaining plates (arrows) of fan shroud (5) into the mounts on the radiator.

Ensure the engaging studs of the fan shroud ring (6) are properly located in the fan shroud (5).
