Intake Manifold: Service and Repair
Removing and installing intake manifold, renewing gasket
Removal / Installation
Disconnect ground cable at battery
Unscrew vacuum line for brake booster.
Detach crankcase ventilation hose.
Pull off vacuum lines of components located at intake manfold.
Unscrew knock sensors cable holder at front of intake manifold.
Unscrew fuel supply and return lines.
Detach bowden cable at accelerator control lever.
Detach control pressure Bowden cable for automatic transmission equipped vehicles.
Detach plug connection at hot wire air mass sensor.
Slacken knurled nut
Detach electronic accelerator actuator plug connection.
Remove dipstick.
Unscrew bolt (15) from below.
Unscrew bolts (16).
Tightening torque 25 Nm as reference value.
Take off intake manifold (19).
Check flange faces with straightedge; dress on finishing plate if necessary.
Installation
Note: When installing, ensure that no vacuum lines and electric cables are jammed in between.
Renew intake manifold gasket (18).
Examine with engine running leak tightness of all connections.
Check and set idle.
Read out, erase if necessary, LH control unit fault memory.
