Refrigerant Control Solenoid Valve: Service and Repair

Rear Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve (Y67)

REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE:

1. Empty (recycling) air conditioner.
2. Remove front left floor carpeting.
3. Disconnect and remove electrical cable plug connection (Y67x1) at wheelhouse.
4. Remove left-hand front fender lining.
5. Remove panelling behind front left side member (6 screws).
6. Release panelling on front left side member (2 screws).
7. Remove pressure line at shut-off valve for rear refrigerant, and seal openings (parts set 140, 830 01 27).
8. Remove shut-off valve for rear refrigerant (Y67) (1 hexagon nut).
9. Install in reverse sequence renew O-rings at the same time and lubricate with compressor oil.

10. Renew receiver dehydrator.
11. Evacuate, refill, check function and check for leaks; rune engine at idle speed only in the first 4 minutes.

TIGHTENING TORQUES:

Lines to shut-off valve:  17±3 Nm.
