MODELS 129 AND 140 (UP TO 11/93 PRODUCTION)
REMANUFACTURED INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BASE PLATE AVAILABILITY

In models 129 and 140, up to November 1993 production, the instrument cluster uses a separate replaceable base plate (main circuit board). However,
these base plates became no longer available during 1994.

Replacement instrument cluster base plates (2, Figure 1) are now available again at a considerable cost saving and should be offered to all customers.
Additionally, these replacement base plates are to be used in the case of warranty repairs where the base plate is found to be defective. Replacement of
the entire instrument cluster due to a defective base plate will not be an acceptable warranty repair and may affect warranty reimbursement.

If the instrument cluster has been previously replaced with the newer LCD digital odometer version, it will no longer be possible to install the older base
plate mentioned here.

Please review the SMS Instructions, Removing and Installing Instrument Cluster, Job No. 54-6015 and Removing and Installing Electronic Board (up to
approx. 10193), Job No. 54-6040, for both models 129 and 140 prior to removal of the base plate.
