Ladies and Gentlemen:

We have found that software in certain Electronic Accelerator Control Modules can create a false failure signal. These control modules should be
replaced in a fashion which clearly demonstrates our mutual commitment to owner satisfaction. We will support your efforts to accomplish this goal by
special reimbursements for customer satisfaction related measures as noted.

The affected control modules contain software that can be too sensitive to certain conditions, resulting in the ASR warning lamp coming on, the
Electronic Accelerator system entering the "limp-home" mode, as well as the storage of false failure codes. The codes tend to be related to the Electronic
Accelerator actuator and the CAN-bus, but are not always consistent.

Control modules produced from week four of 1992 (04/92) through week fifteen of 1992 (15/92) only, are affected. Updated control modules can be
identified by a production code of 16/92 or later stamped in blue. After installation, erase all fault codes and test drive the vehicle before returning it to
the customer.

Please exchange the affected control module during the customer's next service visit or contact the customer to bring the vehicle in for this purpose, in
case a service visit is not scheduled in the very near future.

Control modules are available. The parts should be ordered from the facing PDC.
