Fuel Cooler: Description and Operation
Fuel Cooler
PURPOSE
The fuel cooler (75) has been installed to reduce the formation of vapor bubbles in the fuel system at high ambient temperatures.
LOCATION
The cooler is located on driver side fender in engine compartment. It is integrated in the refrigerant return line between the evaporator and the AC
compressor.
OPERATION
With the engine running, excess fuel from the fuel rail returns depressureized through the fuel cooler on its way to the fuel tank. As long as the AC
compressor is running fuel will be cooled by the air conditioning system.
