MODEL 129 AND 140
MODIFIED STEERING LOCK WITH LOCK CYLINDER
Since November 1991 a modified steering column lock is used on models 129 and 140.

The lock cylinder is installed while in position 1 instead of position 0. This results in improved theft resistance.

The joint (arrow) was altered and the spacer tube (35) and cap (31) are now made of plastic instead of aluminum.

Repair procedure
1.
Remove lock cylinder with spacer tube (SMS, job 46-0645).
Note:
The lock cylinder can not be removed from the spacer tube. As a result, the spacer tube and the cap must be replaced at the same time.
