Campaign - Anti-Corrosion Wax Application to Subframe

WORK INSTRUCTIONS

SUBJECT:
MODEL 140
SEALING INSIDE OF THE REAR AXLE SUB-FRAME LONGITUDINAL TUBES

On affected vehicles listed in the Effective Serial Number List, (not shown) Mercedes-Benz anti-corrosion wax, part no. 000 986 33 70, must be applied
to the inside of the rear axle subframe longitudinal tubes.

WARNING!

Wear eye protection and appropriate clothing when spraying anti-corrosion wax.

Procedure

1.

Raise vehicle on lift.

2.

Attach flexible hose adapter to the Sata spray gun (same spray gun used in Service Campaign 95-0211 [February 1995]). Insert flexible hose into
rear axle subframe tube (through opening near rear mount [Figure 1] and front mount [Figure 2]), as far as possible.

3.

Spray the inside of support tube with anti-corrosion wax while simultaneously pulling out the flexible hose (from the sub-frame tube).

Note:

Repeat procedure at all four mounts to insure thorough coverage inside the left and right side longitudinal tubes.
