RADIO REMOVAL KEYS FOR M.Y. 1991 TWO PIECE RADIO
INSTALLED IN R129 VEHICLES

Note:

This update changes the tool number to 929 589 01 05 00

Model year 1991 R129 vehicles as of chassis end number FO19523 (9/90 production) have been equipped ex-factory with two piece radios. The special
radio removal tool, part no. 129 589 00 05 00, will no longer remove the new units. For this reason, a new tool has been developed. Follow the
instructions below to remove the two piece radio head unit from the console.

1.

Insert the key marked "RECHTS" into the right slot until it clicks into place (the word "rechts" must face up).

2.

Insert the key marked "LINKS" into the left slot until it clicks into place (the word "links" must face up).

3.

Pull the head unit from the console by the protruding key loops.

4.

Depressing the springs on the side of the unit will release the keys.

5.

To reinstall the unit, simply slide it fully back into the console.
