Valve Guide: Testing and Inspection

Checking Valve Guides:

1. Remove cylinder head.
2. Remove valves.
3. Inspect inlet and exhaust valve guides with gauge in longitudinal and in transverse direction. For this purpose, check whether the NO GO end with

the wear limit size (+ 220) can be inserted into the valve guides over its entire height (5 mm). If the gauge can be inserted over its entire height,
replace valve guide.

4. Examine seat of valve stem seal on inlet and exhaust valve guides. If valve stem seal seat is worn so that seal is no longer tightly located, replace

valve guide.
