Oil Pan: Service and Repair
Oil Pan Baffle

NOTE:  For additional information on the C36 model not specifically listed below refer to AMG.

C36 Information

-

The oil deflector shield was lowered 2 mm to ensure adequate clearance between the piston rod and shield

-

Spacer caps (arrow) were installed on the crankshaft main bearing cap bolts to increase the clearance.

NOTE:  Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

1. Remove oil pan.

2. Position piston of cylinder 1 to TDC (arrow) so that the crank webs of cylinder 2 are facing up.
3. Unscrew bolts (2) of of pump and bolt (3) of intake manifold support.
4. Unscrew bolts (8).
5. Remove oil shield (9).
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following torque specifications:

bolts (8) to 9 Nm

bolts (2) of of pump and bolt (3) of intake manifold support to:
-

M6: 9 Nm

-

M8: 21 Nm
