Procedures Following an Accident
If one or both Emergency Tensioning Retractors were NOT activated during an accident carry out an inspection for signs of mechanical damage.
If one or both Emergency Tensioning Retractors were activated during an accident, the complete ETR should always be replaced. The belt buckle should
be inspected for signs of mechanical damage and replaced if necessary.
Activation logic of ETR's: (standard)

Both Emergency Tensioning Retractors are activated simultaneously (parallel circuit).
Activation logic of airbag with ETR:

Only the ETR whose latch is inserted in the belt buckle is activated.
Checking whether ETR has been activated:

check ETR housing visually. The ETR has been activated if no cable can be seen in the inspection window.

Run diagnostic tests on ETR system.
