AR32.20-P-0315A Remove/Install Torsion Bar on Rear Axle

AR32.20-P-0315A Remove/Install Torsion Bar on Front Axle

NOTE:  Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

REMOVAL

1. Remove Complete Rear Axle/Suspension. See: Service and Repair 
2. Remove nuts (78a and 78b), then connecting rod (78)
3. Remove bolt (77c), then fixing clamps (77b)
4. Remove stabilizer bar (77)
5. Remove rubber mount (77a) from stabilizer bar (77)
6. On Models with Adaptive Damping System (ADS) with level control, remove nuts (81b, 81e), then intermediate linkage (81) from stabilizer bar

INSTALLATION

Install in reverse order, noting the following:
-

Replace self locking bolts and nuts

-

Center the stabilizer bar (77)

-

The flat on the intermediate linkage (81) must align with the flat on the stabilizer bar (76) (arrow)

Tighten the following components as noted:
-

Self-locking nut for fixing connecting rod on stabilizer bar: 30 Nm

-

Self-locking nut for fixing connecting rod on spring link: 20 Nm

-

Self-locking bolts for fixing stabilizer bar rubber mount on frame floor: 28 Nm

-

Self-locking nut for fixing intermediate linkage on stabilizer bar: 10 Nm
