Governor: Service and Repair
W4A020 Transmission

1.

Raise and support vehicle.

2.

Remove rear engine mount, then remove companion plate from universal flange on transmission.

3.

Disconnect exhaust system.

4.

Press in cover for centrifugal governor, then remove circlip with cover.

5.

Turn universal flange so that centrifugal governor is sideways in bore, then align locking ring so that until clearance is the same at top and bottom.

6.

Using suitable pliers, compress locking ring and pull out centrifugal governor as far as possible.

7.

Pry transmission assembly towards righthand side of vehicle, then pull governor assembly out of transmission.

8.

Reverse procedure to install.
